Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) 7.5/10 Hello and welcome to another movie review. To round out the Star Wars prequel trilogy, today I’m going to go over the third (sixth) film, Revenge of the Sith. This movie was released theatrically on May 19, 2005, with the movie being written and directed by George Lucas. The movie was a box office hit and is considered to be the best of the prequel trilogy. I absolutely love this movie. I have seen it so many times and even saw it when it was re-released in theaters for its 20th anniversary. However, just like with the rest of the series, I have been meaning to rewatch it without the rose tinted glasses. Even with its faults, I still love it to pieces and consider it to be one of my personal favorite films. Let’s begin. War has been raging and ravaging across the galaxy for 3 long years. The Separatists, led by Count Dooku and their new military leader General Grievous, have enacted a plan to capture Supreme Chancel...

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) Review

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005) 8/10 Hello and welcome to another Star Wars review. Why is it that every time I get sick, I always get nostalgic of the things I watched and played from when I was a child? I know the real reason, but every single time I get sick, I get the hankering to watch anything old Cartoon Network. As I’ve been revisiting one of my favorite franchises, I decided to take a slight detour from the movies and check in on a series that I have fond memories of. Back before the 3D animated Clone Wars series was a thing, we had this. Clone Wars is a micro-series that aired on Cartoon Network and the official Star Wars website from November 7, 2003 - March 26, 2005, with the series being directed and produced by Genndy Tartakovsky, who made Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack. The series clocks in at 25 episodes long, 3 “seasons” total. For the first two seasons, each episode is roughly 3-5 minutes long, while with season 3, each episode is 12 minutes long. It’s...

Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) Review

Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) 6.5/10 Hello and welcome to another movie review. Continuing with Star Wars, today I’m going to go over the second Prequel movie, Attack of the Clones. This movie was released on May 16, 2002, with the movie being written and directed by George Lucas. Upon the film’s release, Attack of the Clones received mixed reviews, but overall was better received compared to its predecessor The Phantom Menace. Out of the prequel movies, I have always found Attack of the Clones to be the weakest film. Idk, growing up I always found the movie to be slow, boring, and pretty cringe at times. Watching the movie now with a new pair of eyes made me realize it’s not the dogshit abomination that I remember it to be. I guess I just wasn’t mature enough to appreciate what the film was trying to do. Although Attack of the Clones doesn’t have as many smaller issues as Phantom Menace, it suffers from one major problem that keeps it from being a genui...

Star Wars - Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) Review

Star Wars - Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) 6/10 Hello everyone and welcome to another movie review. Today, I’m starting on the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, starting with The Phantom Menace. This movie was originally released on May 19, 1999, with the movie being written and directed by George Lucas, the mastermind behind the Original Trilogy. Upon the film’s release, both critics and general audiences weren’t too thrilled with the film. Some loved it while others hated it. I was 1 years old when this movie came out. I don’t think I saw this until a bit later, but this is the kind of Star Wars that I grew up with. Even with all of the film’s issues and weird moments, I still love this movie mainly because it reminds me of simpler times. I’ve seen Phantom Menace and the rest of the prequel movies countless times. These are essentially comfort movies for me, but for the longest time I’ve always felt I never truly saw their true colors. So, I’m fixing that and it’s time for m...

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) Review

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) 8/10 Hello and welcome to another movie review and the final installment of the original Star Wars trilogy. Return of the Jedi was first released on May 25, 1983, with the director being Richard Marquand, with a screenplay by George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan. Upon release, Jedi was incredibly successful and even became the highest grossing movie of 1983. Since its release, Jedi has been entered the US National Library of Congress for preservation, rounding out the trilogy. Jedi is regarded as the “worst” movie of the original trilogy. It’s not a bad movie at all, but it’s just not as good as the original film and Empire. I’ve always loved this movie simply because of Luke Skywalker and his development from farm boy to Jedi Knight. Seeing this guy flex his confidence against a notorious gangster and even confront both his father and the evil Emperor himself was always a blast for me. As for the rest of the movie, it’s fine but they aren’t notable...
