Trigun [DUB] (1998) Review

Trigun [DUB] (1998) 9.5/10 “We're nothing like God. Not only do we have limited powers, but sometimes we're driven to become the devil himself.” -Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Hello everyone. Before I dive back into Durarara, I wanted to revisit one of the best anime to ever touch our screens: Trigun. Trigun is a Shonen anime that ran from April 1 - September 30, 1998, with the show clocking in at 26 episodes long, with Studio Madhouse producing the show. Trigun has a special place in my heart as this was one of the first anime that I watched back on Toonami and one of the first shows that I binged. Rewatching it now, I realized that I’ve been sleeping on this masterpiece of an anime. Let’s begin. Our story follows Vash the Stampede, the infamous outlaw with the $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head. With the nickname “The Humanoid Typhoon”, Vash has a tendency of leaving a trail of destruction through any town that he comes across, but not one person seems to be killed. Deemed as “the...

Joseph: King of Dreams (2000) Review

Joseph: King of Dreams (2000) 5/10 Hello everyone. Today, I’ll be going over Joseph: King of Dreams. This movie was released on November 7, 2000 with the directors being Robert C. Ramirez and Rob LaDuca. The movie was also done by DreamWorks, who did Prince of Egypt before this. I gotta say right now, I’m not a fan of this movie. It just feels like events happening. It’s not actually conveying a story unlike Prince of Egypt. Let’s just jump into this. This story is an adaptation of the story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis. Joseph was born into a fairly large family in Canaan. His mother was told that she would not be able to have children, but through a miracle, Joseph was born. Because of this, he is favored by his parents, learning Egyptian and gaining knowledge for a better life. Because of this, his brothers grow jealous of this favoritism. One night, Joseph has a dream and learns that he can predict the future through these dreams and he can also interpret other peop...

The Prince of Egypt (1998) Review

Image
The Prince of Egypt (1998) 8/10 “Let my people go!” Hello everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing another movie. Today’s movie is The Prince of Egypt. Prince of Egypt was originally released on December 18, 1998 with Dreamworks being the animation studio behind it. The movie was directed by Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner, and Simon Wells. Now, I have seen this movie plenty of times in the past, but I had the sudden urge to rewatch it today. This movie is something else. It is something special that you don’t see a lot of times in cinema and this movie is special to me. Not many of you know, but I am fairly religious, with me being a believer of God and a fellow Christian. I just don’t like to bring this up because it causes fights and bullshit in the comments and I don’t want to deal with that. With that said, I will be a little bit biased towards this cause this was one of my favorite movies growing up. Let’s begin. This movie is an adaptation of the Book of Exodus from the Old Te...

Jak 3 (PS4) Review

Image
Jak 3 (PS4) 7.5/10 [THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!] Hello everyone. Today, I’ll be going over the third installment of the Jak and Daxter series. Jak 3 was originally released on November 9, 2004 for the PS2, then got a PS3 remaster, then got an HD port for the PS4. Jak 3 was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Entertainment. Just like with the previous two games, I’ll be judging the game from the PS4 version. Jak 3 is an improvement from the previous game. The game is much more fair and I didn’t experience as many issues, but this game came with its own set of issues. I know this game is old, but I want to discuss this game in full, which includes spoiler territory. With that said, let’s begin. Our story takes place after the events of the second game. Due to Jak’s connections to Krew and the criminal underworld, Jak has been sentenced to exile in the desert wasteland. Accompanied by Daxter and Pecker, the trio wander the desert aimlessl...

Nicktoons: Attack of the Toy Bots (PS2) 6.5/10 Hello everyone. Do I have a surprise for you. Today, I’ll be reviewing Nicktoons: Attack of the Toy Bots, Attack of the Toy Bots was released on October 23, 2007, a year after Battle For Volcano Island, for the PS2 and Wii. The game was developed by Blue Tongue Entertainment and published by THQ. This game was a very nice surprise for me as I was expecting it to be dogshit like the previous game. Thankfully, that is not the case. Let’s begin. Our story follows Spongebob, Timmy, Danny, Jimmy, and a new addition to the main cast Tak as they work together to stop Professor Calamitous’ new evil scheme to rule all the different worlds. As part of a game show called Greatest Genius, Calamitous is tasked with combining Krabby Patties, Fairies, and Ghost Zone Energy and use them to take over the world. He’ll be using these to help fuel and create his latest invention; evil toys. Now it’s up to our heroes to rescue more friends and take d...

Nicktoons: Battle For Volcano Island (PS2) Review

Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island (PS2) 4.5/10 Hey guys. Back with another review. Today, I’ll be going over the second installment of the Nicktoons games: Battle for Volcano Island. BfVI was released on October 24, 2006, a year after the first game, for the PS2 and GameCube. The game was developed by Blue Tongue Entertainment, Atari, Halfbrick Studios, and Natsume with the publisher being THQ. Now I have played this game in the past and when I was a child, this was one of my favorite games on the PS2. Revisiting it now, the game is not as good as I remember it to be. Let's jump into this. Our story follows Spongebob Squarepants, Danny Phantom, Patrick Star, Sam Manson, Timmy Turner, and Sandy Cheeks as they try to save Volcano Island and its residents from the evil god Mawgu, who is threatening the existence of all the other worlds. To help them on their quest, Tucker, Squidward, and Jimmy Neutron will be aiding them. The whole gang was summoned here by The Wise Old Crab,...

Jak II (PS4) Review

Image
Jak II (PS4) 7/10 Hello everyone. Today, I’ll be tackling Jak II, the sequel to The Precursor Legacy. Jak II was originally released on October 14, 2003 for the PS2, remastered for the PS3 in the HD Collection, and then got an HD port for the PS4. The game was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Entertainment. I played through the PS4 version, so I’ll be judging the game from this version. Now, just like with the previous entry, I have played this game before, with this being my third playthrough. Since I replayed the first game, I’m revisiting the rest of the series. Now, because I have played this before in the past, I had a much better time with the game as opposed to the first time. But enough rambling as I have quite a bit to say here. Let’s begin. This game starts immediately after the events of the first game. After collecting all of the Power Cells, Jak and the gang open up the giant door and discover a Rift Portal and a ship inside. Keira hooks everything ...
